What to confirm in writing before booking

For cargo routed through Persian Gulf ports, including shipments with a transshipment stop, ask your carrier or forwarder for the latest status of your specific booking. The incident reports did not announce changes to individual container services.

  • Confirm the vessel name, voyage number, transshipment port and latest estimated departure and arrival.
  • Ask how freight, storage, demurrage and detention would be charged if the shipment is rerouted or delayed.
  • Check war-risk coverage, exclusions and the route covered with your insurer.
