Compare freight solutions

Review sea, road and air freight services, then choose a solution based on cargo type, route, timing and cost.

Choosing the right sea freight option

The choice between a full container, consolidated cargo or special equipment should reflect cargo volume and weight, packaging, required timing and loading conditions. Farvahar Group reviews the shipment details to recommend an option that balances cost, transit requirements and operational risk.

Full Container Load (FCL)

Suitable when dedicated capacity, greater loading control and an independent seal are required. Container size and type are selected after reviewing volume, weight and the loading method.

Less than Container Load (LCL)

Designed for shipments that do not fill a complete container. Cargo is consolidated with other shipments, so sailing schedules, consolidation time and origin and destination charges are checked before booking.

Special equipment

Reefer, open-top or flat-rack equipment may be used for temperature-controlled, heavy, tall or out-of-gauge cargo. Final selection depends on dimensions, weight, centre of gravity and securing requirements.

Key routes and ports

We can review and plan shipments from commercial ports in China and East Asia, India, the UAE, Turkey and other international origins to Iranian ports and in the reverse direction. The final service depends on origin and destination ports, carrier schedules, available capacity, direct or transshipment routing and cargo restrictions.

For Mersin, Jebel Ali, Chinese ports and other regular routes, supporting services such as cross-stuffing, pre-carriage, on-carriage and delivery coordination may be arranged after an operational review.

Information required for a quotation

  • Origin and destination city or port
  • Accurate commodity description and HS code, if available
  • Number of packages, gross weight and cargo volume
  • Container quantity and type or dimensions of each package
  • Incoterm and cargo-ready date
  • Special requirements such as temperature control, dangerous goods or out-of-gauge cargo

For dangerous goods, technical information and documents such as the MSDS and packaging details are required for carrier acceptance review.

How are sea freight cost and transit time determined?

The final quotation is not limited to the base ocean freight. Route, equipment type, volume and weight, season, carrier capacity, origin and destination charges, transshipment, free time and supporting services all affect the total. Transit time depends on the sailing schedule, direct or indirect routing, port conditions and document control. A valid rate and schedule therefore need to be checked against the actual shipment details.

Sea freight questions

What is the difference between FCL and LCL?

FCL reserves a full container for one shipper, while LCL consolidates several shipments. The right choice depends on volume, timing and cost.

What is needed for a quotation?

Origin, destination, cargo description, weight, volume or container quantity, packaging and cargo-ready date are required.

What determines sea transit time?

Transit time depends on route, direct or transshipment service, sailing schedule, port conditions and documentation.

Which container type is suitable for my cargo?

Container type depends on dimensions, weight, cargo characteristics, loading method and temperature-control requirements. Out-of-gauge cargo may require a flat-rack or open-top review and a suitable securing plan.

Can sea freight be arranged door to door?

Yes. Subject to operational and regulatory feasibility, pre-carriage, ocean freight, destination formalities and inland delivery can be coordinated as one plan. The exact scope is confirmed after reviewing the origin, destination and cargo.

What affects the cost of sea freight?

Route, equipment type, weight and volume, seasonal capacity, port charges, transshipment, free time and supporting services are key factors. An accurate rate must be checked for the actual shipment details and date.
